What we collect, and what we don’t

Game Price Finder is a product of GameBid (gamebid.co.uk), operated by Calum as a UK sole trader. It compares legitimate digital game prices for the country and platform you pick. The extension is free. If you click a Buy button marked Ad, we earn a commission. That happens only after you click, and it does not cost you extra.

For personal information this product holds, GameBid is the controller. This policy is written for the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The UK supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can complain to the ICO, and you can also write to us first.

What the extension reads

On a Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, or Epic page, the extension reads the game’s name so it can look up prices. It does not read the price on the page, it does not change the page, and it does not send the page address or your browsing history.

The popup sends the title you are comparing, plus the region, platform, and edition you selected.

What is stored on your device

The extension keeps settings in Chrome’s local storage on your computer:

country, platform, and the currency that belongs to that country
theme and notification preferences (stored only; this version does not send push notifications)
where the extension should look up prices
an anonymous install id, which is a random identifier, not your name

The install id is not an account. It is used so feedback and clicks can be rate-limited. It is not sold.

Feedback

If you submit feedback from the popup or the settings page, the extension sends:

the type, message, optional star rating, and optional email you typed
extension version, a short browser name, and the selected country and platform
the current game id and offer id when you are reporting a result

It does not send page URLs or browsing history. The email field is optional. If you leave it blank, we cannot reply.

The server stores feedback so it can be read and triaged. It does not store your IP address with the feedback. IP addresses are used only in memory, briefly, to limit abuse.

Buy clicks

A Buy click records the offer, retailer, game, platform, region, whether an affiliate parameter was added, and the anonymous install id if the extension sent one. It does not record the page you were on.

What this website collects

These pages are static. They do not set an account, they do not run advertising pixels, and they do not include a form that stores what you type. If the host you choose adds its own logs, that host’s policy applies. This project does not add analytics.

Selling data

We do not sell personal information.

Affiliate links

A commission link is added only after you click Buy, and only for shops that pay one. Those Buy buttons are marked Ad. Steam, the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, and EB Games stay ordinary links and are not marked Ad. Amazon links are not used. Amazon UK and Amazon Australia Associates terms both ban affiliate links in a browser extension. Grey-market key shops are not shown.

Prices are sorted by price. Commission does not change the order. Read the affiliate disclosure.

Uninstall

If an exit survey URL is configured, Chrome opens that address when you uninstall. The extension removes any query string and fragment from that URL and does not add your install id.
